The Hastings Sustainability Showcase will be held at the Port Macquarie Racecourse 12pm-5pm Friday 1st March, and 9am-4pm Saturday 2nd March. The Racecourse offers a range of indoor and outdoor spaces for exhibitions, displays, seminars, workshops, activities, entertainment and meals.
The Showcase will feature many initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of the event, including:
- No single-use food containers allowed - we'll be using real crockery, cutlery and glassware!
- No bottled water for sale or giveaway - we'll have drinking water and bottle re-fill stations around the site
- No plastic bags, plastic straws or balloons allowed
- No disposable polystyrene packaging allowed
- Recycling and composting systems to minimise waste to landfill
- Procurement preference for local and sustainable products and services
